Modern Comments Radio – March 30, 2016

Modern Comments Radio is LIVE tonight at 10 pm Eastern on Vigilant Liberty Radio with lots of interesting news for you!

First, Marquette University is trying to fire professor John McAdams for the unspeakable crime of…defending a student’s right to support man-woman marriage. McAdams had the temerity to call out a junior faculty member of the Catholic university who shut down a debate over gay marriage.

A man hijacked an EgyptAir plane, not because he was a terrorist, but because he wanted a letter sent to his ex-wife. The hijacking, which ended with no injuries and the arrest of the hijacker, prompted one of the most refreshingly honest government statements in history.

A white man and student at San Francisco State was accosted by a black student who accused him of “cultural appropriation” for having dreadlocks. Southwestern University in Texas has canceled a performance of “The Vagina Monologues” because its author, Eve Ensler, is “too white.”

And in news no one should be surprised by, Obamacare patients are sicker and more expensive than anticipated. This could mean even steeper rate hikes in 2017, as Obamacare costs are destroying middle class family budgets. Meanwhile, in the bastion of economic equality that is North Korea, Kim Jong Un is telling people to prepare to eat plants and roots as the nation faces famine. Again.

The #CruzSexScandal is all over Twitter, with little proof of any actual affair, but lots of wild speculation about one of Cruz’s supposed mistresses – former staffer Amanda Carpenter. On the heels of Michelle Fields filing charges against Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, there’s a pattern of behavior among rabid Trump supporters, and Amy’s going to tackle this head-on.

A California woman has made herself one of the worst people ever by stealing Easter eggs left in a yard for a two-year-old boy with Downs Syndrome.

And Mother Angelica, who founded EWTN  in 1981 and saw her station become a global beacon for Catholicism, died on Easter Sunday at the age of 92. This pioneering Poor Clare nun, foundress of a monastery (Our Lady of the Angels in Alabama), turned a garage-based studio and turned it into a global network with 400 employees, broadcasting 24 hours a day into hundreds of millions of homes in over 140 countries.
